The Union of Professionals of Ukraine in the Beauty Industry (UPU) is a public organization that unites hairdressers, makeup artists, nail estheticians, eyebrow stylists and other beauty industry professionals from all over the country.
The new UPU is the legal successor of the Union of Hairdressers of Ukraine with its 28-year history, tradition and values.
Every year, under the auspices of the organization, qualifying rounds for the Championship of Ukraine are held in various cities of our country and the final competition - the Championship of Ukraine, which is held at the largest exhibition of the beauty industry of Ukraine - InterCharm!
The main tasks of the organization are to increase the prestige of the professions of the beauty industry, improve the quality of services provided in beauty salons, improve the skills of masters and standardize educational services in the industry, develop and popularize the competitive movement at the national and international levels.
On September 17, 2018, the SPU Conference was held, at which it was decided to create a new organization - the Union of Professionals of Ukraine in the Beauty Industry!
The Conference was attended by representatives of almost every region of our country, leaders of the beauty industry and the competition movement, organizers of championships, judges, elders, coaches, heads of beauty salons and training centers, members of the national team of Ukraine, activists of our organization!
The Conference delegates noted that the organization, by its name, should unite, represent and protect the interests of beauty industry professionals of all professions and all areas. When the Union of Hairdressers of Ukraine was created, 28 years ago, there were practically no other professions then and such a name was justified. Our industry is developing at a rapid pace. Now the name does not quite correspond to the market situation and modern realities. Therefore, we have created a new organization in terms of the name and legal entity "Union of Professionals of Ukraine in the Beauty Industry". But in terms of history, traditions, values, laid down in the Union of Hairdressers of Ukraine for many years, in terms of our team, in terms of all the championships that we hold - the new organization will continue the work started by the Union of Hairdressers of Ukraine.
The delegates of the Conference unanimously elected Oleksandr Tolubko as the President of the new Union of Hairdressers of Ukraine!
The Union of Hairdressers of Ukraine is a full member of the world organization OMS with the right to form a national team from Ukraine!
The National Team of Ukraine was created in 1997. The founder and permanent Head of the Team for a long time was Lyudmila Abramova.
The first World Championship for the Ukrainian team was the 1998 Championship in Seoul, South Korea. The Ukrainian team surprised and impressed everyone with its brilliant debut performance.
The triumphant march of the National Team of the Ukrainian Hairdressers Team at international competitions and world championships gave impetus to the further development of the hairdressing movement in Ukraine - in 1997 the Union of Hairdressers of Ukraine was created. Annual national qualifying competitions and championships in hairdressing began to be held in our country. Ukraine became a full member of the World Organization of Hairdressers OMS in 1998. An intensive exchange of technologies and information began at the global level.
Since then, the national team of Ukraine, formed by the All-Ukrainian public organization "SPU", has regularly participated in the European and World Championships of OMS - the most prestigious world competitions for hairdressers, makeup artists and nail art masters.
The national team of Ukraine includes the best masters of our country, who demonstrate a high level of training and professionalism in internal competitions - qualifying rounds for the Ukrainian Championship and the Ukrainian Championship, which are held under the auspices of the Ukrainian Professionals Union.
The Ukrainian Professionals Union, being an official member of the OMS, forms a referee team that represents Ukraine from the Ukrainian Professionals Union at international competitions.
